SNOW WHITE

SUMMARY
Once upon a time, there was a
King who has a beautiful daughter but the day when the little girl was born her mother died. Some time after, the king found a new wife, but she was an evil woman who ordered the king to leave his daughter far from her. The little girl grew up in the forest.

Snow white was living with seven dwarves; she helped them with the house chores and other farm activities. She was very happy and enthusiastic.  Her world was plenty of animals, plants and fresh fruits.
Meanwhile, the evil stepmother asked to her magic mirror: "Magic mirror on the wall , Who is the fairest of them all? The mirror always replies, "You, my Queen, are fairest of all." But, when Snow White reaches the age of seven, she became as beautiful as the day, and when the Queen asked her mirror, it responded: "Queen, you are full fair, it is true, but Snow White is fairer than you."

Jealous about what the mirror said, she thought into her mind:"if I only could kill her, I would be the most beautiful woman in the world". After, the evil woman took a poisoned apple and disguised as an old woman and she enters into the forest and while the dwarves are working far away from home, the evil woman gave to Snow white the apple; suddenly the naive girl fall dead to the floor.

Not knowing that this new queen was indeed her stepdaughter, she arrives at the wedding, and her heart fills with the deepest of dread when she realizes the truth. As punishment for her wicked ways, a pair of heated iron shoes are brought forth with tongs and placed before the Queen. She is then forced to step into the iron shoes and dance until she drops dead.

THE BEUTY AND THE BEAST

Beauty and the Beast(1991)

Plot

·         Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town.
·         The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love.
·         Prince Adam was cursed to a beast form by Enchantress who saw no love in his arrogant heart for others.
·         The one way he could break the spell was to learn to love another and earn her love in return before the last petal from his enchanted rose fell.
characters

·         Belle: A bookish young woman who falls in love with the Beast.
·         The beats: a cold-hearted prince transformed into a beast as punishment for his selfishness.
·         Gaston: he was a highly egotistical hunter who vies for Belle's hand in marriage and is determined not to let anyone else win her heart
setting

The structure point

·         the setting of Beauty and the Beast is rural France in roughly the 18th century.
·         A brief opening scene introduces Beauty's family—her father and three sisters—who live in wealthy circumstances.
·         In contrast to the family's simple home is the dark, dangerous forest that lies behind the farm house.

·        the beast not outside but inside; however charming someone may seem to be, it is not their outside facade you should be looking at but what lies below it.

·         Treat others the way you wish to be treated!

THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING LITERATURE TO STUDENTS

Conversational warm-up
Teaching the lesson
Why do it?
Group work can be an effective method to motivate students, encourage active learning, and develop key critical-thinking, communication, and decision-making skills. But without careful planning and facilitation, group work can frustrate students and instructors and feel like a waste of time. Use these suggestions to help implement group work successfully in your classroom.
Drawing is a form of graphic response also serves the range of learning styles that exist in any real classroom; we can invite them to use drawing as one several tools as one job on a role sheet.
High school is a time where many students interested in art want to learn to draw realistically. This is a very reasonable goal; however, many lessons can be learned from drawing in an abstract style as well. With those considerations, and the addition of some examples throughout art history, numerous projects exist for high school students depending on the specific medium they would like to pursue.

CHARACTERISTICS

Characteristics of critical thinkers
  •           Critical thinkers examine available evidence before drawing conclusions
              They accept change
They remain open to the need for adjustment and adaptation throughout the inquiry cycle
They are willing to examine even their most deeply held values and beliefs, and to modify these beliefs when evidence and experience contradict them.
They appreciate and try to understand others' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Critical thinking

Critical thinking is about discovering and applying           meaning to what you see, hear, and read.

"If a man's actions are not guided by thoughtful
conclusions, then they are guided by inconsiderate

impulse, unbalanced appetite, caprice, or the
circumstances of the moment. To cultivate unhindered,
unreflective external activity is to foster
enslavement for it leaves the person at the mercy of
appetite, sense, and circumstance
John Dewey

-
Critical thinking involves, among other things, actively looking at an issue, examining what you have already experienced about the issue, and comparing and contrasting that to what other authentic sources  have researched and said about this issue.

    GRETEL AND HANSEL

I  chose GRETEL and HANSEL because is a nice story for children as it is the perfect story. Two brothers ... lost in the forest ... found a house of chocolate and sweets and ... ohhhhhhh! What kid or adult would not love to get lost in a forest and find a wonderful dream house all full of candy? The story of a bond between a Brother and a Sister, of how they survived a very hard situation. It started when their Step mom told their Father who is a woodcutter, to bring the two kids at the forest and just leave them there. They are so poor that they cannot afford to feed them anymore. While in the forest, the two stumbled upon a house made of candies and chocolates. Because they were both hungry, they went inside to eat, not knowing that the woman who lives there was a witch who eats little children. The witch put Hansel in a cage and let Gretel do the house choirs. She also told Gretel to never forget to feed her Brother. But when Gretel Found out that if her Brother becomes fat, the witch will cook and eat him. She told Hansel about this and they came up with a plan. When the time came that Hansel will be cooked, Gretel told the witch that there’s something wrong with the oven. So the witch went inside the oven to take a look, Gretel took the opportunity and shoved her more inside and closed the oven. She freed Hansel and they ran away from the witches’ house. Just in time, for their Father is looking all over the forest for them. He realized that he can’t live without his two kids, so the three went home and lived peacefully with each other. This story shows how tight the bond of a family is, thru thick and thin, a family is always there to help and give support. Even if it means risking their own life just to save their love ones.

    WELCOME!!!

I AM ALEJANDRA POVEDA AND THIS IS MY BLOG,

    I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT.

My opinion about LITERATURE FOR CHILDREN is when, through books, children can also learn about people and places from other parts of the world, improving their understanding of and concern for all of humanity.

Through stories and novels children can vicariously try out new experiences and test new ideas, with no negative consequences in their real lives.

    MULTICURALISM

These videos showed that the   Students are interested in learning more about other people and other cultures. The result of greater emphasis in multicultural education could be greater tolerance among students, fewer negative attitudes, and fewer prejudices with the result being better social relations between students from different cultural backgrounds.

    RIDDLES

I come one in a  minute,
    Twice I a moment ,
But never in a thousand year.

At night they come without being fetched.
By day they are lost without being stolen.
    What are they?

I always run, but never walk.
    I have a bed, but I don´t sleep.
    I have a mouth, but I   don’t  eat

    You hear my sound ,

you feel me when I move
But see me you never will.

    this a very nice story
